Freshman Scholarship Program
As we enter our 84th year at Saint Louis University we remain dedicated to the founding principles of our brotherhood. These tenants, known as the 5S’s, are the guiding vision of our fraternity:
· Spiritual
· Scholastic
· Service
· School spirit
· Social
It is through the fulfillment of these values that we pursue a lifelong commitment to true brotherhood.
In an effort to recognize the young men who have already chosen to embody the founding principles of our fraternity, each fall we award:
· Two scholarships
· $250 each
to the men who we feel best conduct their lives according to the 5S’s. The scholarships are intended to help these men in their future academic pursuits. The scholarships are awarded solely based on merit and are in no way contingent upon one’s interest to join our, or any other, Greek organization.
Below is the full application to be considered for the Freshman Scholarship. Upon receiving your application you will be contacted by our Freshman Scholarship Chair who will provide you with further information regarding the program. In the weeks before the start of the semester you receive information about the scholarship reception, at which you will have an opportunity to meet the brothers of the chapter who will be conducting the interview process. Attendance at this reception is not required but highly recommended. At this time you will be able to sign up for an interview to be conducted during the first week of class. Following the completion of all interviews the applicants will be considered and the recipients chosen. All applicants will be contacted with the committee's final decision at an undetermined date for the Fall 2011 semester.
